You are invited to attend – and participate in! – the HEIDI Project’s Final Event on 30th and 31st May

After many, many fascinating roundtables, panels, webinars, community environmental action, documents and reports, a video and much more, the HEIDI Project is wrapping up at the end of May. We thank everyone who has contributed to all these events and the research we’ve done as a result, and we hope you’ll enjoy reading it as we keep adding to our outputs.

UCL is holding its final event during the last two days, in two separate 2-hour sessions. We would love for you to be at either or both. You can register by clicking on our Eventbrite here. You can get a ticket for either or both days, and you will be e-mailed Zoom links in advance.

Day 1 (30th May, 16:00 to 18:00 BST) will kick off with some fantastic speakers: Darlene Cavalier, founder of SciStarter; Stefan von Rohr, Project Manager of HackZurich; Jessica Chau, Lead of NASA International Space Apps Challenge Hackathon; and Bridgette Johnson, Global Community Manager of NASA. We will of course hear from our PI, Artemis Skarlatidou, about what Digital Action is and why it should be celebrated, hear more about the HEIDI Project’s interesting work, and hold a Q&A session.

On Day 2 (30th May, 16:00 to 18:00 BST), we will get more interactive – there will be a discussion session on Digital Action (though you are welcome to just listen in if you are more comfortable with that!), and we’d like to invite you to be a brief speaker! Have you run any form of Digital Action yourself – a citizen science project or event, a hackathon, a makeathon, or something similar? If so, would you like to tell us and the audience about it in a five minute presentation? We would love to hear from you, and we’d be grateful for you to let us know by filling out this form, which will give you some pointers for what aspects you might like to talk about. We’ll also hear about the different stages of the HEIDI Project, have a fun quiz, and focus especially on how Higher Education Institutions can embrace bottom-up Digital Action.

It’s been an intense two years packed with 101 events, and we look forward to celebrating it with you!
